Funny Noises

Hi, I just installed my new video card (Geforce 7800 GS), with the drivers on the disc, and tried out max settings on Fable. I maxed everything and it all ran fine, however once in a while I would here this skipping noise, the kind you hear on scratched CDs. I know this is not a problem with my speakers or soundcard because I had this problem once before when I had my old video card, but once I did something with the video card the noise stopped.

Here are my specs:

Pentium 4 3.0 GHz Processor
Geforce 7800 GS
512 RAM

So if anyone knows how to get rid of this skipping noise that would be great, thanks.

I'd say upgrading memory might help. I'd vote for lag, but you never know.

I am upgrading my memory soon, so I will see if that helps. But for now, if anyone else has any ideas of what the problem may be, please post.

The the CPU maxing out during gameplay? That could cause it as well.

No, the CPU isn't maxing out.
