the opera browser is going to be on the DS soon. plus they are coming out with a gameboy cartridge that acts like a reciever for TV. The DS is outselling the PSP by huge amounts and companies are realizing it now. How many is shutdowns is that for nintendos handheld market now? 10? lol enjoy :)

Posted by: Vybuni

Do you need to subscribe or pay anything for Nintendo's wifi/internet access?

Posted by: Avalanch3

thats pretty kool....is it a definate go ahead ??

Posted by: cvb724

nope the best part is that its all free net and services as long as u have a ds! ya and its for sure coming out in march for japan and may in north america

Posted by: alexsabree

is it going to be in AMERICA??? or do we have to wait a year or so.

AHhhh Japan loves Nintendo

Posted by: cvb724

read my last post... i said it's coming out in may here

Posted by: Lynch Hung

I cant wait for this to come out in Aus (if it even does)

Posted by: KCRMYZ

This looks cool does anyone know when it will be releasing out. Or does anyoen have an estimate.

Posted by: cvb724

have u read any of the posts or just the title? its coming out in MAY 2006

Posted by: multany

is it only for WIFI ready DS's? .. like, i bought mine a while ago.. i'm not sure if it's wifi ready =( ... how can i tell if it is? .. and also, if it's not, what can i do about it??

Posted by: Penguinlord

All Ds's are wifi ready. It doesn't matter when you bought it.

Posted by: cvb724

how can u tell me u havent played MK DS online ?!?!

i bought mine the first day it came out and ive been playing it online since

Posted by: Penguinlord

I would play it online, but my firewall won't let it connect, even if I set it to allow. The only way it works is if I turn off the firewall (which I don't want to do).

Posted by: cvb724

ya i had the same prob but i just connected it manually and made a static IP for my computer and DS and it works perfect now

Posted by: multany

i only have mario 64 ds so far lol ....i havent had much extra money laying around to buy any games lol ...

but i was watching this thing one time .. i think it was on G4, and they said "make sure you have a WIFI ready DS" .. or something like that. so i assumed since she stressed it, maybe some DS's weren't wifi ready lol ....

Posted by: cvb724

no i they prolly just meant get a highspeed connection with wireless abilities. cuz if u dont have a wireless router u can get a special usb wifi adapter that goes through ur computer

the tv part is only comming out in Japan for the time being. they have just hooked up a free tv system for many of their major cities. we dont have that here in the US, so it wont work

Posted by: ulater6000

This makes me want to buy a DS instead of the SP I am planning on buying.

Posted by: multany

how advanced do you think the opera web browser will be? .. like, do you think we'd be able to watch streamed videos? .. on, for example, youtube.com?

Posted by: kfc469

i doubt that you will be able to stream videos at this point. i dont think that the speed of the wireless adapter on the DS could hadel videos. does anone know how fast the connection is? i think that it will be a very simple browser very similar to the first browsers on pocket PC's(very slow, hard to use, etc.) but, ill be buying one!!!:p

Posted by: multany

yeah either way i'll be buying one too lol

and it is a full browser since the internet bandwith can go as fast as ur buying it. obviously it can play streaming videos considering u play MK without any lag!

Posted by: kpmwrestler

is there any difference in the opera capabilities in ds vs. ds lite

thats where you're wrong. read this:
http://forum.lik-sang.com/showthread.php?t=13308

Scroll down to the part where it says:
Q: Will it support the playback of audio or video?
A: No, Nintendo has confirmed the browser will not be able to steam video or audio.
