Its supposed to be a good alternative to an AMD athlon. But if your mobo supports only AMD, for for the Athlon 3700 Posted by: Vybuni I'd say the 3700. Posted by: iPod Man why not the new core duos Posted by: Apokalipse why isn't there an Athlon 64 X2 3800+? anyway, out of those, it would either be the Athlon 64 3700+ for mainly gaming, or the Pentium D for math/multitasking (though the X2 3800+ is better than the Pentium D) Posted by: weemanpow3 intel pentium D Posted by: dawizhacker THE 3700+ all the way~! It's cheap and powerful! Posted by: willsko87 Someone block this guys IP address. Posted by: maroon1 The people who voted for 3700+ are AMD fanboys. There is no way for 3700+ to be better than Pentium D. The Pentium D is dual core processor, so it is much better for multitasking and multi-threaded applications. Most of todays games are multi-threaded, so the Pentium D should match or even beat 3700+ in new and future games. vBulletin Copyright ©2000 - 2003, Jelsoft Enterprises Limited.
