All i was wondering was if Linux has the same power as windows to detect a LAN connection. So ill just be able to have the network cable into the back of my computer, and Linux will do the rest. Thanks. Posted by: macdude425 Linux is pretty good about recognizing wired LANs on install and automatically setting them up. It's not so easy with WLAN and Dial-up connections, though. Posted by: horndude its good at supporting and detecting NIC's, but its lousy at autodetecting LAN types and then autoconfiguring that.......not that it matters, its quite easy to set up a LAN with linux anyway Posted by: straightv6 Just give it a try, that's the only way you will find out. There's a bunch of people that will try and help if it doesn't work out. vBulletin Copyright ©2000 - 2003, Jelsoft Enterprises Limited. PPC Management vB Easy Archive Final - Created by Xenon |
