That's the best way. Also, surf for sites that relate to yours, contact the webmaster and offer up a link exchange, most are willing to do so for more exposure for their benefit as well. Update your site every day - if you dont have enough content - break it into a few days. Make your site sticky, content will please the SE's and your readers. Lookingo Digg.com / Feedburner if you blog or at the very least post relevant information to your topic as often as possible. People will start coming - you'd be surprised.
