Any help/advice are very much appreciated and will be used :) Posted by: jirwin first of all I would suggest getting a cable connection for a faster and more up to date connection. Then when you get your moden set up you will need a router for networking your laptop to the same connection. I would suggest getting a wireless router such as Linksys or Netgear. Now once you get your router set up you will need a wireless card for your laptop. Posted by: RickM A couple of things. I assume you have adsl home? If so then you should look for a laptop with abuilt-in wireless adapter (802.11g), most new ones will have it. Second, buy a dsl/cable wireless router (I prefer Linsys "G"), this will also have 4-port wired conntections as well. You can connect your PC into the wired connection and setup your wireless for the Laptop. You will be able to have 2 profiles for you laptop wireless adapter for home use and outside use.
