Simultaneous dynamic & static IP address

Wonder whether anybody could help with my question:

I am running a DSL modem & router and one Win XP PC connected to the no. 1 LAN switch. I connected my Win Me laptop to no.2 LAN switch, but cannot connect to the Internet etc.

I believe the reason for this is, that my TCP/IP in Win Me is set up for the DSL system I am using in my office, which requires a static IP address. I am aware, that most likeley I have to change TCP/IP settings to "Obtain dynamic IP address".

Is there any way around this? I do not want to change everyday the settings manually and I am looking for anything, software etc. which automates the procedure.

As far as I know, there isn't any software which lets you easily switch your internet connection settings. The screens for switching it over in windows are fairly direct and uncomplicated, although I understand that it is a pain to constantly change it over when you switch networks.
However, I just realized that you should be able to set up two networks in your Network Connections applet in Control Panel. You can configure the connection settings from there and then just decide which to connect with depending on where you are. I have never done this, but I assume you could get it working fairly easily. One will probably be your default connection, but yah, you should just be able to click a couple times and have it connect to the one you want.
Let me know if this helps.

Thanks, Regina, for your valuable input. Unfortunately it doesn't work. However, I managed to get the software, which is able to switch network settings at:

The program is dead easy and saves various net configurations by taking a snapshot of the system. One simply saves each snapshot under a different name. To activate a specific settings one has to choose from a name. Apply and reboot and that's about it.
