Zelda Poll

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: Cogwork

Another silly poll and one that's probably been done many times before.

Which is the best Zelda game?

Posted by: Cogwork

Don't suppose anyone likes the CDI Zelda games, eh?

Posted by: RyanOldw83

The original.

Posted by: beedubaya

Ocarina of Time, definately. I was obessed with that game when I got it. It was the best N64 game of them all, in my opinion.

Posted by: Ken Masters

Yep, Ocarina of Time is the best! It's probably the best game of all time.

Posted by: Aname

ocarina of time is the best game i've ever played and maybe the best i ever will play, if you haven't played this you are missing out big time, get out buy a second hand n64 and play it :)

100% true. This game rocked. Never before and never again will I be immersed in a game as much as I was this one. This may sound wierd, but I became so involved with that game I sometimes forgot that I wasn't Link in real life..lol. Anyway, this is the best game for N64 and one of, if not the best game of all time.

Posted by: Veritas

Link is my homeboy. So many good memories of those games. I can remember bringing links awakening to school and just sitting in class playing GB under my desk. With Ocarina of Time i would just skip school all together just to play that game.

Posted by: Oceanb0rn

Never got into the 3D Zelda games. Ocarina was fun for a while, but the limitations of the N64 and/or the game engine took a lot away from it. N64 might have been saved with a decent controller or a keyboard/mouse setup, but... The whole system just bugged me.

I like the original and 3, but I prefer 3; in my opinion, it's the best Zelda game. It's old enough to have sort of the classic feel, and new enough to have decent enough graphics, decent sound, and it's overall replayable forever. I got rid of my SNES years ago, but SNES emulation perfected a while ago, once they figured out how to emulate transparency (this was a problem for a while). Now Zelda 3 is out on the GBA, which is the main reason I bought the system. Emulating is actually a better gaming experience for SNES games, with better controllers and the ability to cheat, save anywhere, frame skip, etc., but ****, GBAs are nice.

Easily Ocarina of Time. Never did I get into a game that much. I still play it.

Posted by: SizzlinSean

Definately Ocarina of Time. It was truly a masterpiece. I'm trying to get the LOZ: Collectors Edition off of eBay. But I loved OoT.

Posted by: willsko87

yeah that one was sick

Posted by: Qwerty84

I'm the only one that picked 2 so far...

Posted by: dethangel

ive never played ocarina, but i heard it was really good from everyone that has played it, they cant all be wrong can they?

Posted by: MST3kGeek

i liked the first one the most by far.

2 was fun, but i had seen my brother and dad play it through before i got my shot at it.

i havent liked any of the n64 or gc ones.

then ive watched my brother and dad play all the gameboy ones and the snes one

but yeah, my vote: the original
:D

Posted by: Nubius

Oh man they are all great. You can't consider one without the other!

I loved windwaker on Gamecube though, was a lot more interesting and fun than I anticipated

Posted by: Carniva

Were's The Minish Cap in the poll????? Great game but Ocarina of time is still by far the masterpiece of all the zelda games!

Posted by: Nubius

I think most people say that simply because it was the first one revamped for the new system.

Posted by: jorsoft03

I really like The Minish Cap, even though it's short. I haven't played the Ocarina of Time, so I can't vote for it (I'll buy one soon!). Oracle of Ages really good, too, but I'm voting for the original. Never beat it, though. Couldn't find Level 7!

Posted by:

OoT, but WW was fun too. I dont like the old ones because I wasnt around when they were made.... my days were best when I was young and playing the newest games..... o god mario 64....

Posted by: aj2003

i think the OoT is the best game ever made. Ive heard people who think they know loads about gaming yet only owns PS2 and have never played this game. I CANT WAIT for the new GC one if its gonna be anywhere near as good as OoT

Posted by: Codeine

I like the orignals lol. Even though i can barely remember them lol. I just cant wait to see the new Zelda coming out for the next generation nintendo console. With the graphic's available now, its going to be good. I know Zelda never was a graphical game, but that might change. I know spells and magic effects are going to own though.

Posted by: aliasaid

anyone here able to finish ocarina of time / windwaker without the guide?

Posted by: Syn7ax 3rror

Ocarina.

Posted by: KMOTE

zelda 1-played but not completed, very inaccesable
2-again played but not completed
OoT-nearly perfect when it came out still good but not so much
maj mask-OoTs equal in some respects better in places than OoT but occasionally let down
WW-standing side-by-side today with the other games this is the best, although not as good for its time as OoT was. The lengthy sailng sections do let it down in some places

nope..tried but too hard...very good game though.
I think most people say that simply because it was the first one revamped for the new system.
i have to agree. OoT was the first 3d zelda so it apealled to the masses. majors mask was to hard i think but maybe i suck strategy. and dont u noobs *** back and say u played the game flawlessly without giude or help from others and never got stuck on any place cause i think only jesus himself could do that..

The Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past

Go for the classics!

Posted by: Texas Heat

Link to the Past was by far the best Zelda ever made. Think about how the new games are made and you will realize that they are all based on this game. Anyways, I think that the best will soon be changing, with the new one for GC coming out and it, from what I've seen, will dominate all past Zelda's

Posted by: Juice Daddy

what about the minish cap?

I thought that was pretty good for a gba...

Posted by: Sum40dean

Zelda is the shiz. It is the greatest series ever created. Miyamoto has the coolest imagination ever. Nintendo RULE! End of. No doubt. When you pick up a nintendo game you know what you can expect. Most games on X-Box or Playstation, unless they are from a series, you don't have a clue what to expect normally.

Posted by: tech_101

Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time. the newer ones have done nothing but let me down.

Posted by: RichM499

Ocarina of Time, partly because i know the bugs. If you start the game, get the sword and shield, you can skip the deku tree if you stand next to the exit guard, and then slightly pull the cartridge out of the N64 (pull the right side out SLOWLY untill the guard dissapears while keeping the left side in the n64) and then walk past him. ALSO, if you go to the field near the castle (follow the wall untill you find an indented part (like where two of the polygonal earth walls join together theres a crack that is almost perfectly vertical) while in the canyon area near the castle, look for a few of them... there is one near the ramp up to the castle green area that you can corner yourself in and slowly climb if you press the joystick SLOWLY forward) then follow that wall around to the side of the castle, and you can look inside the castle to the pictures, also you can go INto a secret room in the castle and there are 3 pictures (i think one throws bombs at you), and you can see a small cutscene where ganondorf and zelda are walking together)... also... you dont need to win the race to get the horse, just get some speed and jump over the outside wall=).....

Posted by: Avalanch3

the orignal zelda is the best :)

Z64...

You can get it for gamecube and it includes majoras mask and the extra dungeons. Also rumors say that it's also being done on the DS.

Posted by: Lynch Hung

Twilight Princess will own.

Posted by: talldude123

ocarina of time

the NES ones freaked me out for some reason...

Posted by: Yin-Yang

three words "ocarina of time"

kinda disaponting that you did not put up Twilight princess for thoghs of us who went to E3 thogh...

Posted by: contry

Yupp I agree with Ocarina Of time then A link to the past, windwaker was good but i tought it was a lil easier than the other ones, good game tho. Oracle of ages and Oracle of seasons stole some of my time too

Posted by: RE4-1337gamer

ocarana of time is the best

Posted by: tehcube

i also enjoyed ocarana of time

Posted by: cvb724

Ocarina of Time was the best but all the others were the best games too. Nintendo Power just voted OoT the best game ever made for Nintendo and almost eveyone agreed with it.

Chris

Posted by: tehcube

I think the first one I played was ocorana of time and I was obsessed with it, then I bought majora's mask and I liked it except for the time limit thing

Posted by: faek

I love em all.. think I have to go with Ocarina because of the experience it gave zelda fans, their world of hyrule being transformed into 3D was quite a big deal, and that's not the only reason. Everybody disses Majora's Mask, but man that is one fun zelda game, so many sidequests and awesome places to explore, plus the minigames! I think it just got a negative reception because it wasn't Ocarina of Time II in every way shape and form

Yea, the time aspect was cool, but also sucked sometimes as well.

Posted by: Alvin.C

Hello,

Ocarina of Time on the N64 :) .

Sorry if this isn't appropriate  ...You've probably seen this, but has anyone seen and heard the 'Video Game Pianist'!?

He plays a whole load of Zelda tunes in consecutive order.

If you love Zelda, you'll love this!

Ocarina, I'm with the crowd here.

Great video Alvin, that guy is good.

Posted by: Gameboy

Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
I loved it from beginning to end. I still have magazines with the preview of that game and like all the graphics look pretty diffrent. Also I enjoyed the video even though I've seen it.

Posted by: sup2jzgte05

Im old school I love THe original Zelda, I grew up playing, so my vote is for NES :)
