so i built a computer very, very recently (try yesterday)
specs:
core 2 duo e6400 2.13
2x1 GB corsair DDR2 SDRAM
EVGA geforce 8800 GTS 640 MB gfx card
asus p5be motherboard
sony CD-RW
250GB seagate HD

and finally
samsung 19" LCD widescreen (SyncMaster 941BW)

now onto the problem: from windows (XP pro) changed the resolution to 1440 x 900 (highest supported by monitor). however, when i go to the monitor menu (using the buttons on the monitor), the monitor registers as 1280 x 1024. the problem is that the screen is a little blurry, and just not what it should be. i installed the correct driver, but for some reason its just not right.

never mind everyone, problem solved.
