also how do u know when your PSU is blowed up?

whtus the best brand for a psu??

ATX power supplies will normally have a 20+4 pin connector allowing either a 20 or 24 pin connector.
I wouldn't recommend getting a cheap power supply or using the one that comes with a case.
Best makes of power supply are Enermax, Forton, Antec etc.

You can sometimes smell it though.

Anyway, I generally don't trust a power supply that comes with a case.

The mushroom cloud...... :p

You will FIRST notice the smell, then you might see smoke...

On my 900Mhz P3, it has a 200W or maybe less PSU, and I tryed to hook up an additional 2 SCSI drives in addition to the HDD, optical drive, floppy, and two 40mm case fans, and it started smoking.... I had a good laugh, and it still works to power up the few components in the box, but it still smells a little bit, but not as bad as it did initially.

The case is good, the power supply that comes with it is not.
