I'm getting about 1 frame per second while trying to play this game, and have to click things about 5 times to use them. I just got done defragmenting and saw no improvement, I have Knights of Nine along with the latest patch, and my other games run fine. Here are my Specs:

Nvidia Geforce 7900 GTX 512mb
2gb DDR RAM
AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ 2ghz Dual Core
About 40gb of free space and a 550 Watt Power Supply.

What do you guys think the problem is?

I've tried the lowest setting and the highest settings..I get the same FPS, no matter where I am, and it's incredibly low.

lol, i run it at like 1280x1024 with bloom and 4x aa and all that jazz and I don't drop below 20 frames or so.. with specs in signature.. that's weird.. :\ sorry for not being of much help, though.

Eh. You ... run... high settings...with...1GB of ram. What has this world came to. I wouldnt of thoguht a huge map with top quality textures could all load onto 1gb of ram, and then run above 20fps.

It seems its just luck. It either runs great or crap. Personally i just got it on 360, saves a lot of hassle and looks better, on 42" Widescreen, unless you have a very top spec system.

as of how to sort out your problem, im not sure. But i'll certainly have a surf of the net to see wether i can find anything.

Thanks

Kman, I have 1gb of RAM, and I run Ultra High at 1024x768 with 1gb of RAM.

As for the problem, Doom 3 is an OpenGL game, while Oblivion is a Direct X 9 game. Make sure you have the latest version of DX.

Ok it probably is fine. So how come FEAR with no way near as much info to load because of the relatively small maps need 2GB.

How should I know? I didn't program the game.

I was able to run Oblivion on decent settings with no lag on my machine, so yours ought to run super.

As was said above, update your DirectX. Update your graphics card drivers as well. Kill all your background processes.

try running the game on one processor core.

For the same reason we know most things, people talk, info gets passed on, we lern.

Its just like i bought a jumper yesterday for a fire saftey test for school. No one told me it was flamable, nothing said it was flamable. I just new because it was obvious. Maybe you had the ''Obvious'' answer to my FEAR question. Obviously not :p.

Thanks

It runs about 15-25 FPS here, unless your on a horse.
I play mid or high, mostly mid caz when playing high there are problems that occur.
