So I got a mate telling me he has his 6400 up to 3.5 GHz stable. No water cooling.
He has a Noctura Nh-U12 heatsink on it.

I was alittle indifferent about this whole thing.

I'd like your opinion's on truth.

Very possible. I know people who have gotten E6400 up to 4.0ghz on air and I know someone who has gotten 3.71ghz on an E6300 with a Tuniq Tower.

Ok... I was just wondering seemed alittle weird to me is all.

With the right stuff, and a bit of luck, C2Ds can overclock, like theres no tomorrow.

ya very possible, infact even with that stock cooler u could come pretty darn close to 2.7 ghz on an e6300, on an e4300 u could go 3.4 ghz on stock intel cooler

ive seen someone go 4.1ghz on cdquad but it was watercooled still pretty good though

I can get to 3.1 on the stock cooler with my E6300... I haven't tried it with the stock cooler, but I don't have to increase voltages until past 3.15ish
