Posted by: Louth Sorry to thread-jack.. I'm having the same problem, fresh install of XP Pro on a formatted HDD and my Wireless adapter won't connect to my access point when set to 'auto get IP', just hangs on 'Acquiring network address'. If I put in the IP of the access point though it connects to the network, but the internet doesn't get shared correctly. I don't have any firewalls running and no settings have been changed on my access point. Any ideas? Posted by: NewCents05 i think my problem is with hardware i think something isnt compatible with something but right now im doing a clean install of windows vista ultimate and hoping it was just my windows xp cd that was screwy cause i couldnt do alot of things on it like msconfig or system restore Posted by: Trotter Clean install is great... did you happen to install the drivers for your hardware? Posted by: NewCents05 um i believe i did install all the drivers. i think the only thing that didnt install properly is flash and it wouldnt reinstall when i clicked on the icon i installed the drivers after vista installed if that matters there was some option to install drivers during the vista installation i didnt know what that was about so i didnt mess with it vBulletin Copyright ©2000 - 2003, Jelsoft Enterprises Limited.
