Hi,
Currently I am using the 7.1 Onboard Audio on my Motherboard (in my sig), I was just wondering, would I notice a difference if I changed to an X-fi Xtreme music card?
Or would it depend on my speakers as well? At the moment im just using 2.1 Altec Lansing ones.

Altec LAnsing make speakers of a good quality, and YES X-Fi ExtremeMusic will definitly make a big difference to the way your speakers sound, although yu could spend less for those speakers as they dont need something quite of the likes of X-fi, there a bit overkill for them. A sounblaster Audigy 4 or 2Zs or Even a Soublaster Live card would serve you well, but ANY Creative Labs Soundblaster card will upgrade your audio quality signifificntly.
