I need to setup 5 or more computers on a private network that can be monitored by an administrator and also used for file transfer between the computers. The system needs to be be duplicable and easy to use, and Im not sure if I should use a networking tool such as novell or cisco or use something else. Given my needs I still need to pick out computer equiptment and run high speed data lines inside the office so any imformation on that would be helpful as well. Thank You ahead of time for the advice. DJ Posted by: TopGunHomer While I'm sure that others here will give you better "technical" advice, I for one am a fan of simplicity. When a setup consists of that few computers, I'm a fan of having an external storage device shared on a local network. You can then get backup utilities to copy the files on a daily/weekly basis to another drive somewhere on the network. It's cheap, easy, and effective. If money isn't so much a concern, and the company needs added features and security, then I'd listen to what others will eventually say. This is just a simplistic solution option. vBulletin Copyright ©2000 - 2003, Jelsoft Enterprises Limited. PPC Management vB Easy Archive Final - Created by Xenon |
