Ram:

Mobo

$221.00 for cpu and $64.99 for ram and $52.99 for mobo

comes to a total of $338.00(USD) its closest i could get to your budget, and you may want to look into better ram im not sure your mobo even supports that but its cheap and fits nicely into your budget, you may be able to however get a used c2d system off of someone here but it doesnt look like you have many biters.

Neither the Ram or motherboard you listed work with that processor, I think a used system is more what he's going for here.

Posted by: backup287

^ the processor socket is LGA 775 is it not?

Posted by: M733mhz

Yeah, But that motherboard doesn't support Core2.

Posted by: backup287

^i think your mistaken you should check again

Last edited by backup287 on 03-01-2007 at 08:35 PM for the win. Anyhow if you want to buy new, Here's a good setup for core2:
RAM

CPU

Motherboard

A little more than your 400 but it's a good future proof set. I know you live in Canada and can't use newegg and I know you need a video card too but that's definitely something you could find on the forums.

I dont know if you realize this guys, but dawizhacker it from BC, Canada. Newegg doesn't ship there.

For him to buy those parts from Tiger, Can Computers, or NCIX, it would cost nearly double Newegg's price.

Wait for the price cuts in like a month or so? You can save like 60 dollars then by getting an e4300 or so...

Posted by: dawizhacker

Well, it seems you guys didn't understand, I wanted to buy used and I'm quite sure that $400USD + Shipping is not to low.

It is true that I can't get anything from NEWEGG.com directly, but I have friends in USA that are willing to buy it for me and ship it out to me, IF I CAN'T find it in Canada.

BTW Thanks for the suggested setup's.

Posted by: M733mhz

Yeah, Nows a tough time to look for used Core2 setups because nobody wants to sell theirs. I know you're gonna miss your Lanparty when you upgrade! :(

Posted by: backup287

ya best you save up till you reach at least 2,000 then you could probally buy a new decent c2d and by that time the c2d's will have gone down, hopefully into your price range

Posted by: aspire.comptech

^^^ are you retarded?

You can make a kickass c2d system for 700 bucks if you shop around and buy used. **** thats what i spent for my backup system...

e6300
MSI 975x
2gig DDR2
x1950xtx
500w psu...

you get the picture

Posted by: backup287

^^ that video card alone is 500 bucks buddy that leaves 200 bucks for your mobo, processor ram psu and case man all that for 200 bucks?your one lucky kid

Posted by: aspire.comptech

That card isnt 500 bucks, take a look anywhere online and youll find em for a lot less, I paid 225 for it from Nosboost and then 100 for the mobo from him, 100 for the 2gigs of ram, and 200 for the psu and cpu

Buy used and shop around man, didnt get any special treatment, just looked hard for the best deals

****, i Spent like 1600 on my main rig

this is neweggs price on the item without shipping in usd, and newegg is extremely cheap

Heres one on Newegg thats $85 cheaper than that one. And you can get them on Ebay for under $300.

Posted by: backup287

^yes but do you really want one made by some no name company?
(HIS Hightech)

Posted by: Dexaroni

Backup, you should stop talking now.

Posted by: backup287

settle down boy, dont forget he has 400 dollars not 700 so even if he did get the cheap no name brand he would get one video card, he would still be lacking ,cpu, mobo, ram, case, moniter, keyboard, mouse, psu and an optional things like speakers and sound card

as much as we all want computers to be cheap and good, its rare that you can very good deals that n0s gave you, your lucky and it ends there, its not every day you fund a mint 2.500 + machine for 700 bucks im sorry but thats reality

Posted by: M733mhz

What? If you have no idea how to shop maybe. Rebates for one can save you huge on things. Buying used speaks for itself. Who says somewhere else on the net doesn't have that card for cheaper? Don't buy from the first place you find the item. If you learn how to be an educated consumer and not just **** your money away then yes you can get awesome deals on things, it's not luck, it's being smart with your money.

Posted by: backup287

haha settle down

Posted by: aspire.comptech

Just for the record, the rigs retail value is sometihng like 1300 not 2500...

****, my main rig isnt even worth 2500, and thats with the 19'' widescreen lcd O_o

Seriously tho, if you browse the for sale sections on the forums you can find some nice *** deals, just gotta be patient waiting for em.

Posted by: backup287

ok ok you've proved ur point

Posted by: dawizhacker

Yea, you guys are kind of way of topic.

MODS please clean all this up :)
