If it is a 169.x.x.x IP address then you are not truly connected to your router & will need to troubleshoot that. If you are getting an IP address assigned to you from the router, i.e. 192.x.x.x then you may have a software issue on the PC preventing you from connecting. I always start troubleshooting those problems by disabling any firewalls. If you would like to check these things & update the thread I can provide further troubleshooting if need be. Regards Posted by: NewCents05 well i actually got it to show the network connections like 1394 connection, local area connection and wireless network connection in the network connections in control panel just now its not connecting either by directly plugging it into the modem or wireless it says acquiring ip address but it never does and my other computers running off the same wireless router are working fine so its not the routers. i fixed it by doing this http://www.johnmag4u.com/blog/2006/09/27/fix-due-to-an-unidentified-problem-windows-cannot-display-windows-firewall-settings/3/ so what can i do to officiallly make it connect vBulletin Copyright ©2000 - 2003, Jelsoft Enterprises Limited.
