Would a laptop with built in 802.11b be compatible with my D-Link DI-524 wireless G router? Posted by: bla!! Your router is going to have to be able to talk 802.11b to be able to communicate with your laptop. Check to see if your router says 802.11b/g or just 802.11g. If it is just g, you're not going to be able to use it with your laptop. I mostly just surf the internet and download music. Will it be slow? Posted by: bla!! For surfing the internet, you won't notice a difference. That's limited by your internet connection speed. Internally, if transferring files from 1 comp to another, you'll notice the difference. B runs at 11Mbps where G runs at 54Mbps. vBulletin Copyright ©2000 - 2003, Jelsoft Enterprises Limited.
