Speaking at Black Hat DC 2007, the research director at NGS Software warned attendees that hackers could sneak malicious code onto any component in your PC that has memory space.



Malicious code delivered via the memory on hardware components poses a rootkit threat since it will run on the PC before the operating system loads, Heasman said. This likely will hide it from security software and other protection mechanisms, he added. Such low-level malicious code is known as a rootkit.

Could reseting the drivers or relevant software disable this. can it affect a computer already running, a very helpfull post, I would like to nail down if some of the issue iv'e had is due to to this.
