The third, not so much... It constantly disconnects me especially with communication programs (AIM, MSN, ECT...) It has been this way since I got it. When I put the old router in place of the firewall it works perfect. Please help me. Posted by: I_DROWN_FISH :( BUMP:( I hope bumps are legal here... I read the forum rules and I didnt say anything about not doing it. Posted by: Ste 1.Configure it, goto the product page for said firewall and find out how to change the settings or configure it so allow such programs to stay connected. 2.See if theres an update for the program. 3. use another firewall Posted by: I_DROWN_FISH 1.Configure it, goto the product page for said firewall and find out how to change the settings or configure it so allow such programs to stay connected. It needs a rollover cable connected to a console port thingy which I dont have. 2.See if theres an update for the program. I wouldn't have access to update it. It is my dad's work's. Also same problem as above. 3. use another firewall I wish. That one is around a grand so I dont think we will be gettin a new one any time soon. Posted by: I_DROWN_FISH I think it would be somthing on the computer side and not router side. I have a computer next to me running the exact same program and its fine. When I try it on the other one I get kicked off with in 5 minutes. Any other suggestions? Posted by: Ste Reinstall the program. After updating the LAN Driver. If you cant do that then forget it. Posted by: I_DROWN_FISH What program?? Its not a program... It is a physical firewall box.... Posted by: Ste Oh, then, update the LAN Driver for that PC's Nic, if nothing changes then forget it. A reimage of the machine may fix it, but since you can't do anything else I suggested then I doubt you could do that. Posted by: I_DROWN_FISH OK how do I update the LAN driver? Posted by: Ste Find out the Model of the NIC card, goto the manufactures website, locate the specific model and ind the driver. Posted by: I_DROWN_FISH Network: Network Adapter Intel(R) PRO/100 VE Network Connection Can someone find me the right driver? I think the info above should cover it. If you need anymore just ask. Posted by: Ste Why do we have to find it? We can only do so much for you, before you have to help urself. Learn to use google, goto intels website, SEARCH AROUND!! Posted by: I_DROWN_FISH Tried and dled somthing. Didnt work. I always try and help myself before I ask others. Posted by: Ste What do you mean it didn't work? Explain, details. Provide link to Dl. Posted by: I_DROWN_FISH I found a download but i can not seem to find it again. It was from network-drivers.com It worked and ran and installed but it didn't help my problem. Posted by: Ste Meh, try a different network cable. Other than that your out of options. Especially since you can't do many suggestions. Posted by: I_DROWN_FISH Its not the cable.. I made it myself but all I have to do is disable and enable the network. N e other last suggestions? Posted by: Ethereal_Dragon Is that host having issues a laptop? If so, check the power management options. It could be that it is shutting down the NIC to save power. If it is a PC, do you have a different PCI NIC that you could try? Perhaps swap one out from a different PC. Have you tried using a different LAN port on the router? Posted by: I_DROWN_FISH No its a desktop. I could try a diffrent pci network adapter thing. And no its not the port I have tried it before. Will the new PCI network card be hard to install? Not physically but like to setup the network? Posted by: Ethereal_Dragon No, shouldn't be. Just a simple matter of putting it in a PCI slot (with the computer TURNED OFF), starting it up, and installing the drivers for it. It is POSSIBLE that the setup might be difficult, as a Juniper Firewall isn't really something you would find in a SOHO environment, but if you weren't able to configure it, I couldn't imagine that the network is too complicated. (hopefully using DHCP). Posted by: I_DROWN_FISH Alright Ill try that out and get back to ya. vBulletin Copyright ©2000 - 2003, Jelsoft Enterprises Limited.
