I use X-Fire...but before that I used MSN and AIM.

I don't use IMs... too many people holler at me when I'm on one.

When I did, I used Trillian Pro.

Pretty well. I haunt forums, and hop on Ventrillo and Teamspeak from time to time. IMing distracts me from what I'm doing too much.

If your thinking of the best IM Application it depends on what Service your with. Another one I use is Gaim which supports different mail services like AIM, ICQ (Oscar protocol), MSN Messenger, Yahoo!, IRC, Jabber, Gadu-Gadu, SILC, Novell GroupWise Messenger, Lotus Sametime, and Zephyr networks.

A use Tlen, Gadu-Gadu and Gaim (in Linux)

Cyber Hunter -> GG (gadu-gadu) is a polish Messanger ! :D It's a popularity IM :)
