Speaker cable conversion

I have this stereo system: Stereo

I want to use the speakers alone, plugged into my television set, and scrap the CD player. HOWEVER, the speakers have audio connections like this: wires.
What I need, to plug the speakers into the TV, are audio cables, like this: audio cables.

Does anyone know some sort of (preferably cheap) method of converting the cables?

you can buy the RCA to line converters. radioshack or walmart even will have them.

something like this: http://cgi.ebay.com/Xscorpion-LINE-OUT-CONVERTER-speaker-wire-to-RCA-NEW_W0QQitemZ300082100307QQcmdZViewItem

that will make the connections. however, be aware that you won't get much volume out of the speakers that way. you need some sort of amplifier between your speakers and TV.

that's why amplifiers usually have RCA inputs and speaker wire outputs. speakers aren't designed or meant to connect directly to a source like the TV or a DVD player.

Just get some RCA cables and plug one end into the TV and the other end into the Line In on the back of your stereo.
