Sometimes the small changes make a huge different. How would you normally open a link in a new tab ? Right-click it and select Open link in new tab ? Left-Clicking it could mean that it would open in the active page or load a new window, both could be undesired.

The Firefox extension Super Drag and Go adds another possibility to Firefox. Just press the left mouse button over a link and keep it pressed. Move the mouse a few inches and drop it there. This will load the link in a new tab without all the previously mentioned hassles.

It is possible to customize certain behavior in the options of the add-on. Select if you want to load links and searches in foreground, select if you want to automatically download images that you drag the same way as you would load a link in a new tab and select a default location for those images.

Sorry to burst your bubble but...
You can use the middle mouse button to open links for a new tab and if you click the top of the tab with the middle mouse button it will close aswell.

So with a few middle mouse clicks you can open almost every link on the page.
