very basic .htaccess Question

I know this is like the most basic question about .htaccess but I don't know the answer and when I google it I either am not understanding the answer or I'm not getting the answer I am looking for.

I have an account on a webhost and four domains. The host will not direct the domains for me, I have to upload my own .htaccess file to direct the domains. Until I do they all dump into the root.

So at root I have the content for adam.com
I have a folder for Beth.org
I have a folder for Charlie.net and Charlie.com, the same folder for both.

So how do I write the .htaccess file to let adam.com keep hitting the root while sending Beth.org to that folder and and both Charlie sites to that folder.

I appreciate your help or a link or a book recommendations. Thanks.

You will need to tweak that code a bit to make it work how you want, but it should point you in the right direction.

I tried using that but it didn't quite get me there. It did help me get where I needed to go. Found the answer
