Not Free. (But it is, coughtorrentcough)
Vista Compatible.
Its not norton.

Symantec Makes norton for the Home user. However, symantec also has a product called Symantec Corporate, it is a Anti Virus program for Large corporations. It is much better Than Norton and highly configurable. I use it myself and I can say having both used Norton in the past and Symantec corporate now. That its faster and much nicer.
(And is the best Payed (Coughtorrentcough) AV along with NOD32)

Trend Micro... im using it now on vista ultimate, works great
(doesnt work on vista basic though)

Posted by: mikee

why wouldn't work in on basic?

Posted by: alexsabree

i have no clue.. thats just what i gather, because on the website it lists all other versions of vista except home basic..

Maybe their really is a difference?

Posted by: mikee

this means people are probably going to steer clear of home basic

Posted by: alexsabree

as they should.. the reason for getting vista is for the aero feature.

To me vista isnt much different from xp besides the looks.

Posted by: mikee

Ya it isn't that much different, anthough home premium is faster than xp for me. home basic probably could have passed as an xp service pack 3
