hi, im wondering why Ubuntu wont Install on my Windows PC i ordered the PC CD's and wont work.. i click start or install ubuntu and when i click it my PC Restarts on its own and i end up back on the Ubuntu menu ??.. it kept doing it and i have no idea what to do.. the make/spec of my pc is:

HP Pavilion A608UK
Intel Celeron D 2.53GHz
Nvidia GeForce FX5200 128MB
Kingston 1GB DDR Ram
Seagate 40GB HDD
480W PSU

Which version of Ubuntu is this? Is it 6.10? If not, download the disk image from [url]www.ubuntu.com[/url] and burn it. Try that.

If it [i]is[/i] 6.10, then I don't know what to tell you. You could try the alternate install disc, which doesn't load the live CD and have a graphical installer, but it gets the job done. That disk image can be found here:

it says on the CD at the bottom " Version 6.06 LTS For your PC "

I certainly hope you didn't pay for those discs, as Ubuntu ships them for free. It takes so long, though, that usually you get the old version.

nah i didnt pay for them lol if i did i would of sent them back
