I have an A8V-E Deluxe board, with 2x512 Kingston KVR400X64C3A/512 DIMMs currently installed. Curiously, the motherboard manual says that these DIMMs should [B]not[/B] be able to run in dual channel mode although CPU-Z tells me otherwise (dual enabled).

I would like to upgrade to 2GB and stay in Dual Channel mode, is it possible to do this by only buying 1GB of memory or do I have to start from scratch?

They should be running in dual channel. Just add the same pair of sticks in the empty slots and you should be fine. (4 sticks total - 3 sticks can only run single channel)
