We both have the same DSL ISP and live in the same town. The only difference is that my internet package is 2x the speed of thiers. The internet test results however, show them both having a whole 50ms ping time lower than me. This is also eveident when we play online games in the same server they get 40-50 ping/latency lower than me. They have suggested that maybe it the fact that i only have 3 gigs left from my 80 gig hard drive. so i was wondering if: 1. This could be caused by the fact that i have only 3 unused gigs on my 80 gig HD..maybe related to cache or something. (i usually close ALL unused programs before playing the game or running the internet tests) 2. If there are any programs available to show me ALL applications using my internet connection to monitor as i am sure i have closed the p2p programs and such.(im suspecting its background programs running/updating) my pc specs: 2.8 pentium 4 512 mb ram Posted by: Trotter 1. Hard drive space has nothing to do with it. 2. Task Manager (either right-click your taskbar and choose Task Manager, or control+alt+delete). There are some other programs for this, but that's the easiest way. Just shut down everything running under your name (except explorer) and try it.
