..... getting Counter Strike: Source to run in Wine? I'm thinking of installing Linux on my next build and the game i play the most is CS:S, i was just wondering if anyone got it to work. If not i'm not gonna bother but i'd still rather ask

It works perfectly fine in Cedega.

will it work as well? I'm looking at using Ubuntu and also can i run CS:S in full screen mode? and what about Xfire? i have to have Xfire

Dawn of War isn't in the games database, and I have never tried it nor do I own the game, so I don't know.

I also don't know about the wireless.

But yeah, CS:S runs in full screen, and I dunno about Xfire, never used it.

I know you can chat with your Xfire thing with gaim, but I don't know much else about it. Do you really need it? I mean, what does it do?

hmm, well if it doesnt work with my wireless i may not use Linux, but i may give it a try anyway.

always give it a try.
I'd run a dual boot setup. As i do infact. My windows partition only gets booted for minor things. Most games work ok on ubuntu for me and all my office rubbish is on ubuntu.
Windows has probably been loaded twice in the last 4 weeks.. if that.. its just there as a backup for things i cant do.

Even my web development is totally ubuntu now that i have ie5 and 6 working through wine :P

Give it a shot.. definately

Wifi runs perfectly fine, I am using it right now, and for some odd reason, have a better connection than I ever did in windows. It doesn't drop out on me at inopportune moments, and I have read that Oblivion and CSS (the only games I play) can be ran under Wine.
