How do you take screenshots of your computer?

I see this done all the time but have no idea how to do it. I want to be able to take snapshots of what I'm doing on my computer.

Thank you.

Hey thanks Ste, you are so helpful on here. You are definitely my main man!

Ok so I checked out the FRAPs program and it costs money. Is there a program I can use for free that is good? I don't have much cash right now and I'm trying to save up so you can help me pick out good parts to build a new pc.

Thanks Ste.

Can you elaborate for me timblandchard? Sorry if that's a big pain, but could you give me some steps to do?

Thank you.

Press the "Print Screen" key on the top-right of the keyboard.

Open up Microsoft Paint. Go to Edit -> Paste.

Save the file, post the file at Photobucket.com

You can also use Alt + Print Screen to copy a specific window only.

Press "Print screen" button.

Then open Photoshop ( i know you have it you mentioned it in an earlier post ;) )

Then open File > "New" - (leave size and other settings as they are)

Then just go Edit >"Paste"

It should paste your screenshot into it.
