Lame, as if Cisco has a competing product with the same name. This is just retarded, Cisco needs to realize that there's nothing else they could call it other than iPhone, and just shut up.

That's the legal system, kids.

It's like Micheal Jackson allowing Nike to use "Revolution" in one of their commercials. It ticked off Sir Paul, but that doesn't mean he sells shoes for a living.

I think that iPhone is a pretty lame name anyway... it doesn't really decribe the device that well IMHO (I mean it is a phone... but also a lot more).

I think a more accurate name would be "iThis-thing-kicks-some-serious-***"! :)

if apple settles out of court, cisco will probably make more money than they did on the actual iphone product.

how about "the iphone" or "ifone"
or.....
i-killed-for-one
i-sold-my-kidney-for-one
i-sold-my-kid-for-one
i-have-a-better-phone-than-you

I'm sorry, but iAnything is related to Apple one way or another.
Apple was the first company to use iProduct names in consumer products and therefore has all rights to use the name iPhone.

Its not like the CEO of Cisco woke up one day with the brilliant idea that they should have a product called the iPhone. No. They made a product and said "Hey if it works for Apple...." And thus the Cisco iPhone was born. (not that anyone really knows [or cares] what Cisco is or what they do or what a Cisco iPhone even looks like...)

Chances are the suit will be dismissed and Apple will continue to use the name iPhone.
If worst comes to worst they'll call it the ApplePhone or PodPhone or.. something.

This just hit me... the iPhone isn't even for sale yet so there's no way that Cisco would even have a chance for a lawsuit. Its not a 'real' product yet. You can't complain about something that isn't there. [yet] :p

cisco didnt even invent the product, they just bought the company that orignially patented the 'iphone' ergo they own the patent.
