What browser do you prefer/use?

1. Mozilla Firefox 2.0 - for almost all browsing currently
2. Internet Explorer 6.0 - backup for windows updates/IE specific sites

Just seeing what everyone else uses out there. I assume the majority is IE/Firefox. I've been testing the Opera browser on my Nintendo Wii and it works quite well.

Does anyone recommend any other browsers that are advantageous in any way?

Opera all the time.

For IE-only sites I use IE ofcourse. Rarely need it, though.

Posted by: Bruce

Sorry all...... but IE and only IE. ;)

Posted by: Tonyiomatic

IE was fine, then I got the new one and it messes up alot and opens big security holes, so I either use Mozilla or Aol Browser, Aol isnt that good, but it works better than IE7 for what I need.

Posted by: Vormund

Firefox, of course...

For Window's Updates...Firefox, still. Kind of...IE Tab. :)

I never have tried Opera, though.

Posted by: Snake-Eyes

Firefox daily. Opera occasionally. IE only when IE sites are required. Even then, i have IE tab for FF.

Posted by: kfc469

Firefox except for when I need to do windows update

Posted by: derricks4

I used IE for a long time, but recently I found that firefox was faster on a bandwidth test, and you can have it open multiple tabs on startup which is very sweet.

Posted by: Trotter

Firefox all the way. Even for my Windows updates (IE Tab).

Posted by: saltynay

Firefox the difference with the plug in faster fox is very noticable but i go to a boarding school so the internet is shared between 500 people lol some times the download speeds are below 1kb/sec

Posted by: Z3N

Firefox - and if I hit a IE required website - I just leave. :)

Again, you could use IETab :D

Opera.

Posted by: maroon1

Firefox 2.0 is the best browser ever made.

IE7 is the second best browser.

Opera is the worst browser in my opinion

If you don't want to use FF2.0 then use IE7, but don't use Opera

Why is that?

Posted by: ECTech

For me it depends on which ever icon i happen to click, for the most part IE7 because it works everywhere. the only reason i run firefox is for spellchecking at times. but even then, thats what google toolbar is for. :)

Posted by: GloriaJeans

Internet Explorer 6.0. Mozilla doesn't work for me - too many bugs, and IE 7.0...oh boy, I wouldn't even know where to start - there are just too many problems with it.

Haha, your router is IE-only?

I've always used IE. Been running with IE7 now for a bit. My favorite part is how Easy i can open a new internet browser tab..

However as of late i've installed Firefox 2.0, and to be honest i love it. there are so many more things you can do with it, so many more customizations.

but MY question is can you set up to be able to click a new tab for firefox like IE7. that's just soo convienent!

I think hes talking about a button up near the back/ stop/ home buttons.

I figured out how to do it...

Go to view>toolbars>customize and click and drag the "new tab" button to wherever you want it!

Hope this helps

Posted by: GreenMachine

Ahh thanks everyone for the help. Yea tho, lol, i've tried all these. Now i can open a new tab, however its blank when i open it. I know you can do CTRL then click "home" but when i open a new tab cant it already be set to my homepage?

maybe thats an addon that i can't find??

Posted by: Burn_Cycle

I used to be a IE 6.0 fan about 2 hours ago... But i just got done downloading/modding/tweaking out FF 2.0. I have never, ever, went so fast on the net in my whole life. I mean there is such a big difference I feel like i just lost my virginity all over again!

Opera without any active window.

Double click on the grey area --> opens blank tab
Double click again --> home page

4 clicks, but slightly faster than using the mouse gesture.

Posted by: Ste

Oh, I know Opera pwns, cause I use it.
But I still Want to laugh at his reasons. :p

Posted by: GreenMachine

Was thinking about uninstalling IE7.0, however don't we need this for windows update! and i was on pcpitstop the other day and it 'strongly recommended' using ie rahter than opera or FF.. i was using FF so switched to IE.. guess that's two reasons why I should keep em' both!

Posted by: jonny_uk

Firefox, been using this since i heard all the things about it being better than the other browsers, and i havent looked back since :D

And as most others said, i only use I.E for I.E only tasks/sites

Posted by: Ste

Maroon1 has yet to explain his reasons.

I guess he has none..

Posted by: immortal_angel

I am completely and totally for FF!! I have used IE and had nothin but problems.

I agree on that one, Internet Explorer is too slow!

Posted by: nickm926

Firefox rules...

Posted by: Kubel

Firefox. I only use other browsers for design testing or for when IE is required.

Posted by: Chumly

What's gotten me interested in FF lately is the F11 fullscreen thing. When I do it in IE I lose the address bar (haven't used IE7), but FF keeps the address bar. Makes it so I don't have to exit fullscreen just to type in some site's address.

Just for the added space... otherwise the screen is just too cramped and hurts my mind.
VVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVV

Posted by: timblanchard

i prefer FF to Opera, why do you use fullscreen anyway

Posted by: cliffhucker

I thought I was so cool holding out and staying with IE cuz I could control it and know how to be safe.

When IE7 came out I loved it.

Today I had 1 to many script errors.

So I ran after the Fox.

I guess I knew I'd be spending the next 8+ hours learning/mastering it so I always veered away.

I've been downloading add-ons for hours. You can do anything with this browser.

And this post has no spellikng errors cuz FF put that squirlly red line under em.

I don't ever want to hit that stupid e again.

Posted by: 1337 H4X0R

Firefox, its much faster and I love the extensions but I find all the themes ugly, don't know why. Thinking about trying out Opera 9.1...tried reverting back to IE 7 in the past few days but its just too slow!

Posted by: yohhon

firefox all the way

Posted by: penfold

Mostly I use Firefox. I do have IE tab, but for some sites I find it easier just to use IE, but thankfully those are VERY rare!!

Posted by: KaMDeN

Firefox Rulez

Posted by: usce

IE is evil!

Firefox 2 all the way!

I can't remember the last time I had to open IE, not do I want to.

Posted by: ben_ben

Posted by: Informatyk

Firefox Rulez. IE is terrible :P
In my mobile phone I use the Opera Mini PL

Posted by: mikee

IE!!! WOOOOOO!!!!! and opera sometimes. would use opera alot more if id didnt always turn my glass off.

Posted by: thewizardlee

I use Opera then FF sometimes IE7 but I really do not like it. FF2 is way better than IE7 as far as I am concerned. But Opera is by far and away my favorite.
