The game looked just a little bit better then it did on my PS2. He has a 56" Pioneer HDTV, and we played the games in 720P. In madden, the game was very laggy. It would randomly freeze, then go back, and mess everything up every minute and a half. Very annoying. I did like the controllers though, they were nice and easy, and the R bouttons were very comfortable :) Call of duty 3 looked like crap, It was awful. Not too impressed, was expecting killer graphics. Call of Duty looks like your watching a figgin MOVIE! Its amazing and a great game. Tony hawk is pretty darn good, too! Its not the leap forward visually like CoD is but its still gorgeous! I also played Resistance fall of man and that game is friggin SWEET! Graphically, its a bit lower than CoD but it has WAY more features and imagination! I cant wait to get that game! Listen guys, alot of people are otu there bashing the PS3 because its like the "new thing to do" now. Alot of people (sadly) canot afford it right now and while I really do feel for them, they shouldnt just bash a machine because they want to feel better about HAVING TO BUY a 360 out of having a $100 less. Im also sick of hearing people talk about the price as if the 360 is SO MUCH cheaper! HAHA, the PS3 is like $100 more! Save up for another week or two and stop crying already! DOnt bash a system jsut tpo make yourself feel better fpr having to buy a 360. The 360 has its advantages but the PS3 is an AMAZING machine in its own right. Just wait until its killer apps come out! It was also at 720p, but a smaller TV than what your friend was using. I bet if his TV was able to support 1080i or 1080p, you might get a bit better picture. Another thing, I do remember having the same impression when I got a PS2 after having a PS1. The games were not really graphically better at first. However at the maturity of the PS2, graphics are significantly better than the PS1. Honestly when I switched the game to basketball on this demo PS3 from the off-road game, I was kinda disappointed as well. The graphics were ok, and physics were retarded. I have seen the specs, done the comparisons, and checked the back ground and the PS3 is LACKING. Plain and simple. Fan boy? Nope, this is also being shouted by many big named game reviewers. Does COD3 look bad on the PS3? No. It doesn't. Does it look better than the 360? No. It is smoother, but has less detail. That's just a plain simple comparison fact. If you can't see it then there are two possibilities. You are what you claim everyone who disputes you is, a fan boy, or you have a slight mental deficiency that has caused this unfortunate comparison malady of yours. That was only one of my comments. However, if you want to go indepth about the cell processors and Sony's aim to originally want them as the GPU as well, until a last minute decision based on poor feedback from the developing community caused them to use NVidia and how it is sub par to the 360 GPU, then by all means ask away. I will give you any details you wish and actually EXPLAIN my reasoning instead of ranting like a 12 year old. Yes, I will give it 6 months. Maybe by then they will have many of the bugs worked out and the PS3's that are currently flying out the door... oh... wait, no they are in stock in many stores now. Wow... what a great selling item! If you look at graphic wise, they are comparable and some a little more detailed. The PS3, when given many particle effects, will tend to chug. This was the complaint of MANY reviewers that why does this ultimate cell processor start chugging when dealing with certain mapping. The reason? Because there is no dedicated graphical die for the GPU to process certain architectures. Using the cell for graphics? Forget it. Sony tried that and it works terrible. That is why there was a last minute decision for NVidia to do the card, because the cell wasn't good for rendering and this card was added in at a later point. THAT is why it is inferior, because it was added after hind sight. Is it a shame? Oh, definately. I would of loved to see this work, but you add the limitations of the cell processor, its limited bandwidth in crucial areas of the architecture, and a late add in GPU because the original plan of using the cell to do all didn't work like it seemed, plus rushing as fast as you can to get it out the door so M$ didn't have anymore of a lead and you get a recipe for a product that is no where as near as good as it could of been. Face it, this is a piece of hardware with great potential that was rushed out to fast, had last minute changes and a technology that the architecture couldn't catch up with, namely some of the problems listed above IE bandwidth.
