Posted by: talldude123 1. Sign up to Yahoo Geocities. 2. Post the files onto it. 3. Refer to it on how to post it as a URL link. Posted by: kfc469 use the instructions here: http://www.webwizguide.com/asp/tutorials/installing_iis_winXP_pro.asp to make a virtual drive and then link to it. Posted by: superdave1984 talldude, unfortunately it's under a corporate umbrella so that would get frowned on. kfc that looks like my best solution. I'll try that tomorrow and see how it goes. Thanks to you both. Posted by: kfc469 well wait a second. If this is in a corporate, this might not be the best thing either unless you are your network's admin. You have to open up ports on your computer and change a bunch of settings to make this visible to the outside world. Posted by: superdave1984 I don't want it visible to the outside world, just our intranet. So your solution should work fine right? Posted by: superdave1984 It worked perfectly Thanks a ton. Now I can really make some improvements to our little intranet site. Posted by: kfc469 good. glad it worked. Now, if you really want to, it is quite easy to make that drive visible from home or anywhere. Posted by: superdave1984 I'll keep that in mind for future reference. Might be a good thing...............might not. Posted by: superdave1984 Hey, is there a way to use a network drive instead of my PC? That way if mine craps out, the links still work. Posted by: kfc469 you should be able to make a virtual drive by using the network drive. But, since your computer is acting like a server for the web-page, if it dies then you wouldn't be able to get to the site anyways. Posted by: superdave1984 New question on the same topic. When one of the new links I created opens, it has a link on there for "Parent Directory". This link when clicked opens up the IIS screens. How can I remove this link? This particular issue is with some new content that is merely docs and such that weren't in html format and there are so many I don't want to go through the trouble of converting them all unless somebody knows a quick method. Posted by: kfc469 go into index.html and edit it out, I believe. vBulletin Copyright ©2000 - 2003, Jelsoft Enterprises Limited. PPC Management vB Easy Archive Final - Created by Xenon |
