another A+ thread...

I started working for a company recently that has an online university thing and has all sorts of online courses for Cisco/A+/MCSE/ETC...

I've been working on computers since I was a child and when I got into high school I worked with my dad and have more experience and expertise than most adults.

Unfortunately I'm only 18 years old so whenever I try to get a job the hiring people are skeptical on the "years of experience" thing given my age, so I find A+ is a neccessity given my age.

I was just wondering if anyone here has taken the A+ for 2003 (I think thats the most recent one?)

Only reason I ask is because this online course for A+ has 6 sections for Software/Hardware and I just finished the first section after a couple days. I took extensive notes on everything from Hard Drives to I/O addresses. However its A LOT for me to cram just for one section!

I was wondering if anyone could give me tips in regards to how long it took them to study/take it and how the test was.

Thanks in advance.

The tests are changing the first of next month so you really should wait.

yeah the 2003 objectives are now out of date, theres a new version of the A+ (2006) which I think has changed quite a bit, there are 2 extra exams for remote support and depot work for a start though i htink they're seperate from the main cert.

the a+ has a 3 new tests, but the 2003 objectives will still be offered until June 30, 2007. i can't remember the exact date.

The test is changing June 30th they are adding in a 3rd part which is security and the reason y it is changing then is cause everyone in college or schools for that matter has enough time to finish there course and take the test without having to restudy for it or anything. Right now the test is costing 158 each part and theres 2 parts. (316 for both) however i recently ran across looking up this and i found a nice site which you can save $30 off when u pay for both of the tests. if you want the link just PM me and i well give it to you.
