Hi,

I was just at my local walmart and target doing some xmas shopping and of course keeping an eye out for something for myself. I saw the Gamer section, and checked it out. I just got this macbook, and have been wanting a game for it. When I look on all the boxes where it says 'system requriemnts' it of course says Windows XP, and nothing about OSX or Linux.

I was wondering if you guys could help me with this. I am looking for a good shooter like Halo or Call of Duty or Medal of Honor, you know something like that with plenty action.

Could you list a couple of titles that will work on the latest macbooks?

I'm a big fan of the Battlefield series. 1942 and the expansion pack both run in OSX. Tons of people still play those online as well.

You shouldn't limit yourself to just mac games though. Thats the beauty of the new intel macs. Definitely check out and use BootCamp like macdude said. Your Macbook should be able to play just about anything out there.

MacBook or MacBook Pro?

Games won't run well on a MacBook because it has onboard video.
MacBook Pros will run almost any game because they have dedicated video.

But if you get BootCamp running XP on your Mac, you can play any windows game you can get your hands on (You may not run it well depending on your specs, though)

My macbook isn't a pro. I looked at the graphics stats and it's called an Intel GMA 950, I don't know if that's good or not but it doesnt sound like anything too special. I almost picked up a game called FEAR today, but the box didn't specify if I could use a Mac so I just figured it wouldn't. Now I am looking at Halo, seems like it has a good rep over at Yahoo. Really think I might just download something off the net from that mac site listed above in the first response to this thread. I'd like to pick up controller like one of those playstation looking ones to help out with the experience.

FEAR is a PC game. You can play it, you just have to install Windows XP first.

Don't buy Mac Games if they make the game for PC too.

Buy PC games and install Windows XP SP2 on your mac via BootCamp.
Games play better in Windows because its not good for anything else :P

Once again, Do NOT buy Mac games that are also on PC.

How much RAM do you have? You'll need at LEAST 1gb to play games well. 2gb is highly suggested. 512mb will work 'okay' but it won't be anything stellar. The shared graphics REALLY hurt games on the MacBook.
