Show vertical pictures correctly in slide show

I am trying to save a big batch of jpg pictures from my hard drive to CD or DVD. Anyone has a good way to save them so that they can be shown on any DVD player as a slide show. Right now I can see them in a slide show on the computer using Irfan View. But the vertical ones (portraits) are sideways. What is the fix for that?

You must flip the image in an image editing application.

Almost any editor can do it.

GIMP and Photoplus 6 are free but a more advanced than a normal editor. Picasa is an easier to use program.

I know my window XP has this Windows Picture & Fax viewer that can rotate pictures and save it automatically. I cannot find it in the start menu. How do you launch it?

You should be able to right click on the file > go to open with > then click on the Windows viewer
