I acutally us my PSP wifi connectionat work when I am checking for black spots when setting up a Wireless Networks. I like it how it both a game console and a portable media device. THe only thing that I don't like about it is the avalability of games down here. I just seems to be alot of Racing Games, RPGs. There is hardly any fighting games avalable in australia. Therefore I am constantly getting titles from Japan or USA.
Originally posted by macdawg PS2 - what titles are you guys anticipating or enjoy most on this?
I like the PS2 for the avalability of Light Gun games (Eg. Time Crisis Series, Gun Survivor Series,) and fighting games with Guilty Gear being an all time favorite.
Originally posted by macdawg Xbox - what titles are you guys anticipating or enjoy most on this?
It's bulletproof. http://www.dvd-recordable.org/Article1010-mode=thread-order0-threshold0.phtml
Police in Edgewater, Maryland say they have uncovered the cause of a friday night shooting incident. Robert Preston Kersey, 34, angered by his flatmates playing their X-box loudly in the early hours stormed into their living room and fired a single gunshot into the game system, disabling it, police said. The 9mm gunshot did not penetrate the system and did not injure anyone at the scene, police said. Kersey has been charged with two counts of reckless endangerment and one count of destruction of property, police said. Like Wii is offering a cheaper system and cheaper games. Sorry, but I can not justify the RRP of the PS3. Posted by: Beefcake Weither or not the PS3 or 360 has better graphics is still up in the air. The PS3 uses a G71 (like the 7900 cards) and is clocked in the 500 range. The 360 has the better GPU, but the cell under very certain programming can run faster. On a hardware note, Microsoft is kicking Sony's ***. The cell CPU is very expensive and very hard to make. They have to scrap a lot from the batch because they don't work to expectations. This is one of the main factors, other than blueray, as to why it costs so much; and why there are so few. Sony was planning on selling 1 million consoles at the of the year, but expectations are that they can only make up to 800,000 by then. The 360's proccessor is very simple and many developers are very used to how to program it (it is multicore so there is some learning curve). Posted by: n30phYte Why does every thread about games on this site have to be hijacked into a fanboy war? Jesus. Posted by: LU4sTrooper Yeah stop the fanboyism, it's extremely annoying and just makes you look like a 13 year old child who argues about it in the Playground. However - as for PS3 vs. Xbox 360 graphics, read the gamespot comparison: http://uk.gamespot.com/features/6162742/p-2.html Posted by: TheEnd187 ok I think it is time for me to jump in this is what the Xbox 360 comes with 1 Remote 20gb hard drive power cable composite cables the ps3 comes with wireless remote with usb cables for charging 60gb hard drive blue ray drive wi-fi hdmi outs built in compact flash media reader composite cables power cable the xbox360 doesnt include hdmi outputs no built in flash media reader it costs $200.00 for the hd dvd player plus an additional $100.00 for wi-fi and $50.00 for the flash media reader and plus $20.00 for the charge and play kit the hd dvd player doesn't include hdmi out puts Posted by: Beefcake
Originally posted by TheEnd187 ok I think it is time for me to jump in this is what the Xbox 360 comes with 1 Remote 20gb hard drive power cable composite cables the ps3 comes with wireless remote with usb cables for charging 60gb hard drive blue ray drive wi-fi hdmi outs built in compact flash media reader composite cables power cable the xbox360 doesnt include hdmi outputs no built in flash media reader it costs $200.00 for the hd dvd player plus an additional $100.00 for wi-fi and $50.00 for the flash media reader and plus $20.00 for the charge and play kit the hd dvd player doesn't include hdmi out puts
$400 price better than $600 Price I don't need wi-fi, I don't need blue-ray or HD-DVDs I don't need a flash media reader I also just use a pair of rechargeable batteries that I paid 7 bucks for at a flea market. And that lasts 15-20 hours per charge. The PS3 is an overpriced low quality product. I already had 3 PS2s die on me (one was my brother who bought it at launch, only lasted 9 months, he replaced it, that one only a year, and I had one of mine break). They also use that ****ty old controller design (that too are ****ty in quality, over my time multiple controllers past away, as for my xbox controllers, only one. Then they rip off Nintendo with this pointless sixaxis controller design. Why would you need that. Wii uses it because that is what the whole console is about. Sony is just trying to take some momentum from Nintendo. The controller don't have rumble either, which I personally like. The only thing wrong with the Xbox 1 controller vs the PS controller is that the black/white buttons were out of the way to press. But now that they've been moved to the bumper controller the Xbox controller is vastly superior. Resistance can go screw off because I don't even like playing FPS games on that controller. It's absolutely horrid to play shooters on the PS platform. Why the **** did you think Halo finally gave FPS games on consoles? Because the xbox had a decent control scheme that made it possible. Also blueray is worthless unless if you have an HDTV, also you can use a special hack that allows you to use an Xbox 360 HD-DVD drive with your computer via the USB. Blueray is an overrated, overpriced POS, both Microsoft and Sony should have went w/ HD-DVD as their main format. Here's the breakdown of the top three format's per layer DVD: 4.7GB (9.4GB dual layer) HD-DVD: 15GB (30 dual layer, 45 triple layer) Blue-ray: 25GB (50GB dual layer) HD-DVD is a good format that has the compromise of capacity and cost just fine. DVD is a nice old reliable format, but the capacity is limited. Blueray is a brand-new, very expensive, but has high capacity. HD-DVDs however already has their foot in the door and isn't much more expensive. Here's an interesting fact, Oblivion only used 2/3 of a single DVD for the 360. And that game has a ton of weapons, areas, items, characters, and textures. That is pretty impressive. I would much rather spend the money and buy the Wii then spend almost 3 times that much for a single PS3. Don't be like Sony, and try to make the 360 look like it costs more than the PS3 with a bunch of unnecessary crap. There is only one game, only one, that I want to play that unfortunately is exclusive to the PayStation 3, oops, I mean the the PlayStation 3, and that is Metal Gear Solid 4. Final Fantasy is getting really old. They're milking that franchise almost as much as Nintendo is milking Mario and Zelda. Let's not even get into how much Xbox LIVE owns any other console's online system. Bottom Line ---- 360 & Wii > PS3: I can buy a premium 360 and a Wii for only 50 bucks more than the 60GB PS3, and only 150 more than the 20GB PlayStation 2.9. Now don't judge me as an Xbox fanboy, just consider me a Sony basher, because they deserve to get bashed. The only fanboy-ism in me is that I'm a PC advocate. PC is the best platform for gaming IMO.
Because at the end of the day, it just a games console. Like the reason why I choose a console is that it has the games that I want to play on it. Specs really come secondary to me. The first one is amazing. vBulletin Copyright ©2000 - 2003, Jelsoft Enterprises Limited. PPC Management vB Easy Archive Final - Created by Xenon |
