1) You would probably want to use FTP to transfer the files from your computer to a Windows Server based host. You can find FTP clients everywhere (I like SmartFTP) and you should be able to get the address and connection info from your host.

2) Most Windows hosts I know use MSSQL Server, but some offer others in addition. It depends on what is installed on the server and what the host wants to make available to their clients. As I understand it, web.config is a default override config file for virtual accounts. I'm not sure how this works on a Windows platform, but if it's anything like Apache's .htaccess, it would be within your control- but since it's a server configuration file, you might also be able to get assistance from the hosts support department if needed.

3) Generally you contact the server administrator through support representatives. But it depends on the companies size and number of employees. In most cases, if there's a problem relating to the server- like performance, downtime, etc... you can go to them for help.

4) Updating server software is the job of the administrator, so on a shared host you don't have to worry about that. If you want to update your own files, you would simply overwrite them with your newer versions.

5) If you want to migrate to another server, contact the support department of your new host. They generally have the tools and experience to know how to do this best. Most good hosts will do this for you for free.

6) You may have tax and legal obligations, even as a web-based business. You might want to look into forming an LLC to avoid personal liability (although you are liable for your investments) and to avoid double-taxation.

7) Not difficult at all. Most Windows hosts will have what you are looking for. Fore example: http://www.lunarpages.com/windows-hosting/

Make sure you shop around. Read reviews and compare prices first. Good luck.
