It's a snow day for me here in the Chicago area! Anybody else get school canceled?

Posted by: Keadonen

no :( and i live in canada.. how much did it snow over there?

Posted by: 003

Don't know, over at my house it doesn't look like a foot, but it is fairly deep, it is sticking and wet and heavy, its still snowing a lot and there is snow on the streets. I have no idea what its like at the school. The snow is so bad (wet, sticking and heavy) 3 trees in our backyard have snapped.

florida here. no snow days ever. we usually get hurricane days though....but didn't even get any of those this year.

It snowed up here in the Pacific NW on the past monday-wednesday. We had school canceled. :D

The thing I miss about Chicago is that when school is canceled, there actually is snow on the ground, by that I mean enough to have fun with, not the pitiful crap we get here. But hey, no school is no school. :)

I hate you all :(

When I was in school, here in the midwest, we hardly ever got snow days because if you got snow, it was generally melted enough to go on with school. BUT, you could get out easily enough if the cattle got out. :D

I dunno, we never had "snow" days, but there were times it was muddy enough that you couldnt get anywhere

About a week ago it snowed in the Orlando area.

Right now it's raining...it's been raining and is suppose to keep raining for a couple of days. However, it's 66F outside...so, no snow...although tomorrow it's suppose to drop to 44F.

I don't see any here in meinneapolis hardly. From about 6th grade all through high school I think I think I had 2-3 snow days at most. I did have a few power outage days in 7th grade because my ghetto *** middle school kept losing power. Those were kinda fun :)

I have only seen snow twice my whole life, once in Michigan and in New york, I lived in the desert practically my whole life and now I live in Sunny Los Angeles luckkyyy

school is for losers.

lol I'm already done.

Suburbs of Pittsburgh in a pretty wealthy township means that if there isn't 15+ inches in one night you go to school. Our SI just wants money from the state so we never cancel.

we had a snow day last tuesday here in seattle. Pretty much all the schools were closed here, on wednesday the school was closed down at 5pm so all night classes were cancelled, and on thursday classes started two hours late because of the snow.

no it didn't. a bunch of people always think there's "snow flurries" when it gets cold but that's a common mistake here in florida. everyone wants it to snow because it'd be so crazy and out of whack...but it' just wind blowing around small water droplets. the lowest the temperature even got last month in orlando was 43º.

IF -- and that's a big if -- IF there was any snow falling from higher altitudes, it would have melted before anyone saw it near the ground.

orlando is south of here and we were a little colder that night and didnt experience any snow, even thought it rained

I'm jealous of all with snow...living here in the West / down in the desert... it has snowed three times ever (that I remember) where snow actually stuck to the ground.

Lucky people!:)

This year is screwed up so far,Usually this is the time we have lot's of snow but nothing here in my part of ontario yet,It's on it's way soon though,We are having one heck of a wind and rain storm and you can just feel it in the air,By now we should have atleast a foot or so of snow.

Lame, still 60F here in Boston, sigh.

ya here in Chehalis, just south of Seattle we were 2 hours late for 3 days. But the bus never came on Tuesday and we aren't even on the snow route. My mom and dad had already headed off for work so I had to stay home. lol

hmm.... it hit -50 C with windchill the other day here. this probably doesnt help any stereotypes about canada

Also ive never had a snow day. its pretty gay - mostly becuase the snow doesnt get wet until the spring its just fluffy and doesnt hurt if you jump off your garage roof into it :p ;)

It snowed here in Portland earlier this week, but not enough to stick. It's supposed to be around 24°F tonight, but I doubt we will get any more.

Went to see Umass take on UNH, Dvision 1 AA football playoff game :D

Any way yeah it was really cold, the wind chill was very cold and brisk.
