But when people just save my pages directly to their hard disk and change some logos and names and have basicly same pages i dont find it fair since i put a lot of effort in my pages and the worst was when somebody completly copied me and get one ranking higher than me without making any effort. I have seen some people stop this by not allow the "save as" function does anyone have any advices. I also now that there is a way to go around it but normally people who nows how to do that they are good enough to make their own websites so they dont need to directly copy my pages. Posted by: Kubel There's no definite way to stop people from plagiarizing your work. You can prevent users from right clicking and viewing source with javascript- but even beginners can get around that. Point is- if you have content posted publicly, it can be harvested. The only thing you can do is make it harder for them: Here's a few resources you can take a look at that may be helpful: http://www.rdpslides.com/webresources/FAQ00087.htm http://rainbow.arch.scriptmania.com/scripts/no_right_click.html I think reactive is better than proactive when it comes to theft of web content. Automatically, anything you create is copyrighted by you (although if not registered, you really can't take much legal action). You can usually contact the person and inform them you are the author and do not give them permission to re-publish their work. If that doesn't work, contact their host. Most hosts I know of have copyright clauses in their AUP/TOS that will allow them to suspend or terminate an account if it contains copyrighted content that is used without permission. Usually this applies to MP3s and programs, but it can apply to text and images. I don't think Javascript is an effective way to prevent theft, and I think it can cause more hassle than it's worth. But it's certainly an option. Good luck! Posted by: 1stgirl.com Is it almost impossible to stop anybody from copying anything on the Net. One wise Guru said "The solution is not to be on the Net."
