Every part of it works except the NIC. I can still play games and get to the dashboard, but there are no lights flashing on the network port and the xbox tells me that there is no cable plugged in, even though there is. I called Microsoft and they want $80 + shipping to fix it, and they say it will take 6-8 weeks. So I decided to fix it myself. Is this even possible? If so, where do I get parts? Can I just use a standard PCI type NIC? Thanks Posted by: WorldIndustries It's like fixing onboard NIC on a motherboard. Which basically means it's impossible. Posted by: kfc469 yeah thats the same conclusion I came to after many days of research as well. I had forgotten I posted this... Posted by: sprtnbsblplya You could try getting the wireless adapter, which removes the need of an internal NIC. Posted by: WorldIndustries Yeah. That's about your only workaround solution... Unless you find some sort of USB Network Adapter that by a huge coincidence happens to work with an XBox 360... Don't think that's happening though. Posted by: kfc469 but doesnt the wireless adapter plug into the xbox through the nic? Posted by: sprtnbsblplya Are you using the Xbox or Xbox 360? Posted by: WorldIndustries
Originally posted by kfc469 but doesnt the wireless adapter plug into the xbox through the nic?
Nope. As you can see, it's USB. http://www.msgamestudios.nl/xbox/xbox360_network_adapter.jpg Ohhh. Wait... You're talking about the 360, right? Posted by: kfc469 na. I only have the cheap old xbox 1 for now. and I think the wireless adapter for that hooks up through the nic. vBulletin Copyright ©2000 - 2003, Jelsoft Enterprises Limited.
