Do you have to use the Nintendo brand memory cards, or can teh Wii take any standard SD flash memory card?

Sweet... and it makes me wonder why the **** poeple would pay for those overpriced Nintendo cards.

its the same wit hthe nintendo gamecube memory cards the nintendo 500 block card is 40 bucks but u can get a 10000 block mad cat card for that pricce

if its MicroSD dont think about putting that in.. you need the adaptor first then put the MicroSD in the adaptor and away you go... imagine doing that looool

You don't really need a memory card for it though.

It comes with 512MB hard drive. That is 64 times the amount of PS2's little memory cards. That is alot of room in one system. Granted it is about 14 times smaller than XBOX's 8GB hard drive, but it's still pretty big. And the price difference between 360 and PS3 is just....crazy!!

Iv also seen a few posts online about some people getting an external hard drive to work as its recognised as an SD card.

512 Flash Memory not an hard drive lol

No point in buying a memory card though

For a 'Wii Xpert' you do realise that there will be downloadable content? 512 will not go very far. :p

Or were you being sarcastic?

Posted by: NvidiaDude

yes there is downloadable content for the Wii ( virtual console ) old games lol.. 512MB is alot to be honest.. especially when old games like super mario only take up like under 100KB and there will be an opera browser soon

I picked up a 1gig SD card cheap and think it was worth it. Sure the 512 will prolly go a long way, until you start adding on your saves, plus updates, plus VC games. Plus I just like being able to put music on my SD card for when I play Excite Truck.

Posted by: NvidiaDude

yeh i think thats really cool for excite truck ( custom music ) better than the ones you get on the game premade lol
