I love u all(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)Posted by: pwnographer To what measures must I go to get one of these before Christmas? I am willing to wait outside of a retailer all night if that's what it takes. * Which retailers will release these, how many might they each have available at a given location? *any websites offering them? *is there a reserve/ hold onto one for me option that retailers offer? (probably too late for that if there is but you guys would know) * Any info/ tips on managing to get one at all would be helpful. Any idea how many are expected to ship to the US? Japan was supposed to get 100,000 by november 11th but is only getting 80,000 due to manufacturing problems. * and the most n00bish question of all cus I <3 u all : What are the release prices for the 20GB and 60GB versions and ... *What day will it be officially released !?!?! haha I know I'm a n00b but I want one REALLY BAD so that I can whore it out on eBAY before Christmas to make some much needed $ and make someone and their parents happy I was willing to part ways with it :o lol thanks guys -James Posted by: aaronkupen PS3 will be released in 500 and 600 dollar versions on November 17th. Reserves are pretty much done, but there is still hope to get one even though only 400,000 are being shipped to the USA. Toys R Us will have ps3's, my guess is around 6 not counting reserves (based on my area), and the Best Buy near me will have 15 total (no reserve option). You will want to camp out a day before release if you want to hav ea very good chance of getting one, but for myself I am really serious about getting my second PS3. Because of that I will be camping out wednesday night (it comes out next friday). All in all, each store will not be getting that many, so if you see a big crowd, move on to a different store. Posted by: pwnographer wow thanks for the info man. Wednesday night till Friday morning eh :o ! !?! That's commitment! how will u get food, how will you entertain yourself, how will you take care of your bodily functions, how will you pwn the angry mob that ousts you out of line minutes before the store opens on Friday :D! ? >>!?!?! If you have someone hold your place they will demand a share of your profits if you sell your PS3! lol best of luck to you, I am going to start callnig around to see how many PS 3's each retailer plans to sell :) Posted by: aaronkupen Now you are getting into the meat of camping out. First of all I am going with a friend, and we are bringing coolers of food. Entertaining oneself is not really a big deal because I will mostly be concentrating on not freezing to death -- that is entertainment enough. We are going in pairs, so when one of us needs to use the facilities we won't lose our place in the line. We are also going to bring an assortment of weapoms, personally I am bringing a bat and my friend is bringing a blackjack and a pocket knife. If someone holds my place. no they won't demand a share because I will then do it for them. That is how it usually works, you group together with the people you around, in my case the people at the front of the line :-). Posted by: TheMajor http://www.videogamesblogger.com/2006/11/08/ps3-lines-already-forming-in-america.htm Posted by: KBlair Well, you could pay a front-liner to spread propaganda about where exactly the PS3s are located, and tell him to tell the other front-liners to follow him to a PS3, however, the direction he is going is totally different. Then there's your chance to sneak in and grab a PS3. :) Or you could wait until the fire dies down. Posted by: Beefcake How the **** wants to wait out in the cold for more then one day to be able to play some crappy launch games? I know I wouldn't have done it for the 360 because they too had crappy launch games. I remember waiting over 2 hours outside of a Best Buy so me and my step-dad could get in this massive sale they were having for only 1 day, none the less they're were tons of people there. I thought 2 hours was bad, omg, how can people wait that long. The only way I see it as rewarding is selling it for a profit. Posted by: n30phYte I just read an article on Google News that said some people are already camping out to get the first place in line. Meh, it's only a week right? Posted by: aaronkupen Yes, I am camping out to sell BOTH systems that I get. I woudln't camp out for the ps3 if I just wanted it to play. Yeah, Best Buy kicked people off the grounds after they already had camped 4 days.... if anyone wants to camp out early be sure to ask the manager and get things okayed first. Posted by: Beefcake I don't see the point in waiting this far ahead in the first place. Posted by: pwnographer They are going for $1600 + on eBay right now! People with pre-orders are scanning their reciepts and selling the playstation 3's that they will be picking up on Friday. It's really something what is happening here. You have a new generation console being released a month before Christmas and there really aren't that many to go around (400,000 in US). Also it doubles as a Blu-ray disc player using a new technology to yield a better picture quality (blu-ray disc players right now cost $999) . People want these for more reasons than the few games that will come out at release. The fact that having one will be so exclusive is another appealing factor, especially to parents wanting to make their kids feel extra special/ happy on Christmas. Imagine being a kid and your dad gets you one of these- EVERYONE is going to want to come over and hang out and check it out. **** I'm in college and I would be anyone's friend to go experience it first hand on a 60 inch HDTV running through the entire Call of Duty 3 game! Basically, the fact that it's coming before Christmas and that it will be so hard/ epensive to get one automatically adds appeal. I kick myself for not having gotten a pre-order, I can't afford to wait outside of Bestbuy for 3 days. Imagine the excitement of listing one of those on eBay in December watching the bidding wars of last minute parents and millionaire CEO's hundreds and hundreds of dollars over what you paid for it  ! lol best of luck to any of you guys that wait outside to get one, Best Buy stores will have 25-26 on average but try to pick a crappy place people don't generally go to for electronics like Target :bald: :bald: Posted by: aaronkupen Yah, I just got back five minutes ago. I sold my place in line for a quick 1,000 dollars in cash. Saves me the hassle of putting two on ebay, now I only have one to put on ebay. Speaking of that... I gotta go pick it up at Toys R US now. ^-^.
