I heard about illegal ROMS before and my friend has a a few of them. I tell him that theyre illegal but he just doesnt care. I was just wondering, what would happen to him if he was caught with them? Hes only 15 years old so like would he go to jail or what?

Large Fines or Jail Time. Its highly unlikely he will be caught. Unless he starts selling illegal software and advertising.

Ive done far worse things then what your friend did. And Im still here.
Im sure others at this site can say the same. I wouldn't worry about it.

i agree, just as long as he doesn't sell them he has nothing to worry about. don't know what will heppen in US but here in Serbia there would be no problems as long as you don't sell them.

best way is to download something from internet (DC++, Torrent ...) and then burn it on cd coz there is no way that you will get couth :D

EDIT2: you know if ure using limewire to download music that's illegal too (been looking at ure sig)

EDIT3: roms arnt legal if u ownb the original games by the way

NES Roms and others around that era no one cares about anymore. I think with the Wii you can download them for free anyway? The possibility of your friend being caught is tied in with the possibility of him being a dumbass. To get caught, you would have to publicly announce it, and even then police would have to listening in, and give a d*** at the same time.
