Posted by: a4pr3nt1c3 update: when i turn it on now, the fan starts up but nothing else works, no video output and the light still stays off, but the fan is spinning. Posted by: ATIRAGEPRO If the water was spilled anywhere NEAR the PSU don't even think about plugging it back into the wall. Don't blowdry it either. Just wait a thousand years and it will come back.:( Posted by: a4pr3nt1c3 any idea how long i should wait before trying it again? i was supposed to have a tournament in super smash brothers on this thing this weekend.
LOL ROFLCAKES Posted by: killians45 Just to let you know, ANYTIME you get water on electronics do NOT turn it on to test it. Immediatley unplug it, remove whatever you can and let it air dry. You turn it on, you energize it, it blows. Let it dry, then turn it on. Even thats not fool proof but there is a better chance of salvation doing it that way ;) Posted by: Deathawk Haha, reminds me when my brother spilled milk on my playstation. It worked well too... well not really, but it still worked.. Posted by: n30phYte
Originally posted by a4pr3nt1c3 any idea how long i should wait before trying it again?
as long as you possibly can. there's no real true tested time frame to go by but the longer, the better. take that hair dryer off of it as well. it's best to let it air dry. my girlfriend spilled her drink all over my ps2 once and i let it sit out on for about three weeks. it fired right up and onto eBay it went. :p Posted by: Amd gt player my super nintendo went thru a washign machine and still worcks so did my gamboy andvamced the uper nintendo story is funny tho mom cleaned basement and put a dufle bag with the super nintendo in it thru th wash i unno how she didnt realsie somethign was in it and i waited like a motnh turned it o nand still worcked but my gambo yadvance went thru the dryer so when i pgot em out of the dryer it turned on imidiatly only problem was i got a bunch of dust under teh glas of my screen but u probably killed it by turning it on let it dry for like 3 weeks or so then try again Posted by: FrankieG Here's holding out hope for you, but I wouldn't hold your breath. :( Posted by: NvidiaDude yeh, your better off buying new 1 possibly around £30 preused or somethin Posted by: sprtnbsblplya
Originally posted by n30phYte my girlfriend spilled her drink all over my ps2 once and i let it sit out on for about three weeks. it fired right up and onto eBay it went. :p
lol, thats why I dont shop on ebay anymore. Posted by: kfc469 blow a normal fan on it for a while. Ok...funny story time. My bro put his cell phone through the wash while it was still on. Naturally, when he took it out it didn't work anymore. My dad had the crazy idea to put the phone in the toaster to dry it out. I tried telling him that would fry(pun intended) the phone, but he didn't believe me. He toasted it at 200 degrees for 30ish minutes and when he took it out and turned it on...it worked!!! It has worked ever since. So, if you don't care about it, you could throw the gamecube in the oven for a while. It might fix it, or it might not...:) Posted by: Juice Daddy
Originally posted by killians45 Just to let you know, ANYTIME you get water on electronics do NOT turn it on to test it.
