Ive never used bitlord, but i love azureus out of all the ones ive used like bitcomet and bittornado and just the bittorrent client. in the end they are all pretty much the same tho in the end. azureus is good for laptop or desktop. id give a couple of them a try and see which one you like best, you can always uninstall if you dont like it.

Use uTorrent. It's practically the same as Azureus only is isn't coded in Java, therefore leaving a very small footprint in your RAM. it also has a lot more features. I was a big user of Azureus until my friend told me about uTorrent, and I haven't looked back since

nice, i have been using azureus... but ill test out utorrent

how about prefered burning software for dvd's cd, and all them goodies? Nero i take it ?

Been more than happy with azureus

Azereus runs Java which means it loads up the java software. This makes it consume more system resources to DL torrents.

I use BitComet which has been great for me.

Id rather have a simple program that downloads it, no RSS feeds, no chat, just get me the file fast and with as little system noise as possible..

Yup, same thing here, I just need a program that DLs the files I want. I don't want any of the other "cool" AKA absolutely useless features which slow down my computer.

I use Nero 7 Ultra and Alcohol 120%, depending on what I need to do

did you pay for Nero or just get it online?, alcohol 120% what is that? are you messing with my head yo ha

I absolutely love Azureus. I've used most of the major bittorrent clients out there, and i found Azureus to be, one, the best looking, two, the easiest to use, and three, the most customizable (option-wise).

Well, with my laptops 5.5 gb hd I don't think I have Java installed, so I don't use Azereus :P

I use BitComet. Good speeds... pretty customizable, although on my main I might switch clients (After I'm done DLing 17 gbs of Modern Marvels :P)

use torrent its better

Alcohol 120% is an imaging software. That is to say it can make images of CD's (ISO and the like) to store on your hard drive. It allows you to also burn those ISO's as well. Great when you are dinking around with *nix. Download the ISO, burn, install, play. One thing that is nice is that you can rip the image of a disc and no longer need to insert the disc to use the software on it.

+1 on uTorrent... best I've ever used. Updated regularly, now at 1.6 (I started using it at 1.2).

I installed utorrent and i get trash dload speeds. Like 2-15k when there is like 100 available seeds ect. I thought this was supposed to be fast?

Posted by: TheMajor

JAVA=slow. Azureus kinda feel like the interface of Firefox before it turned v1.5.

I use µTorrent.

Posted by: zmatt

the speeds dont depend on the client it depends on the torrent. for example when i downloaded open office2 i had 400k per second. but when i downloaded the origonal cut of "godzilla" it took 2 days and i was getting 12k per second. BTW i use uTorrent, always have and always will.

Utorrent isnt an CPU hog like azureus is.
ABC torrent is apparently the fastest though.
