[DS] - it's super sweet! I got it two weeks ago and have played too much since. I can see those that aren't into music, especially creating music, not being to into it too but if that doesn't describe you, then seriously check this one out! You play with things to create music so maybe one will turn over a new leaf through it's creation process. It's all about music, but creating music visually... changing various elements to create different melodies/sounds/structures, etc etc. There's 10 different 'environments' to play in [different scenarios to create music]... I wish there were a little more but some are so openended it compensates very well. I've even used this machine w/ a live set I did.. not in any club, but at home for practice. I've got a 12 channel mixer and output from the DS headphones into the mixer [along with the other equipment] and encorporated it into the flow. It assists wonderfully and used it solo as well. Some of the scenarios have bpm adjustments, recording features and samples galore.. one is even a 4 channel loop that has endless filters and possibilities! All this, controlled by a stylus is extremely innovative.. i'm glad Nintendo has continued their exploration in video games to such extents. All this made me realize how amazing it would be if they created a DS game this is meant to function as even a simple sequencer... the stylus control for this would be a first and take music creation to a whole new level. There are 3rd parties that have gone this route before [ie LSDJ] but not with touch control and Nintendo could set a new bar by exploring this field. Already have an sp...come on! :) For now I have to admire a lot of the Nintendo DS games from afar...and strangely enough, I want Brain Age...don't laugh at me.
