I'm sure that most of you guys are familiar with the opensource program Truecrypt that lets you encrypt folders and mount it with a password as a separate hard drive. But I was wondering if it was even possible to use as a means to put pre-boot authentication similar to PGP Whole Disk Encryption? I looked at their site and was rather confused by it, but I'm not sure if it's possible. (I'm using this to protect several hard drives at my house's network that have really personal data and it could be used at work as well.)

I know that you can set a BIOS password so you need to enter the key during boot to even get onto the computer. However, anyone with some technical skills know how to bypass the BIOS password.

Not sure about TrueCrypt though
