Securing NAS setup

Hello!

With all the ransomware going on a rampage these days we are trying to defend our information from it the best way possible.

We are currently syncing information from the computers to the NAS drive but we are worried that if a machine is infected the ransomware will overwrite everything the user/computer have write access to and will just overwrite the NAS files etc.

Do anyone have a good solution to guard against this? Any tips related to avoiding NAS files to be overwritten is really appreciated :)

It sounds like you're a smaller operation, in which case the only practical methods are user education and backups.

Follow the 3-2-1 backup method and make sure your users know what to watch out for and aren't clicking on malicious links or getting suckered by phishing emails and scam phone calls. And make sure to periodically test your backups.

Damn I need to get home to patch! Currently on holiday with no access to my network... I could be screwed!!!!
